Media Blitz at FL State
The Florida State DanceSport Championships being held at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota this week is enjoying unprecedented media coverage and attendee participation.
The producers, Larry and Dianne Dean of Dance Consultants Unlimited Inc., attribute the increased level of interest to the outstanding Ritz-Carlton venue, the cuturally progressive City of Sarasota, and the inclusion of The Ballroom Bootcamp series.
Sarasota's local newspaper, The Herald Tribune, interviewed the TLC Ballroom Bootcamp producer, Dean Ollins, who stated,"...his series in Sarasota had nothing to do with luck. Ollins said the Deans put together one of the highest quality contests in the country."
"We weren't looking for any rinky-dink event," he said. "We were looking for the best of the best."
Of the summer's scheduled contests, Sarasota's offers one of the largest prize purses in the nation -- making it an attractive destination for professionals and amateurs alike.
The third jewel in DanceSport's "Triple Crown," which also includes New Orleans and Biloxi, Miss., will hand out $250,000 in awards, scholarships and merchandise."
